Amid a decline in the number of coronavirus infections in India, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Director Dr. Randeep Guleria has warned about a possible spike in the coming weeks.

Dr. Guleria also said that the downward trend needs to continue for at least two weeks to conclusively state that India is past its COVID-19 peak.

As per a report, he said that cold climate and an increase in PM 2.5 levels could mean that the virus could stay in the air for longer.

The lack of ventilation, low wind speeds could also compound the COVID-19 crisis, he further added.
