India prioritising gender equality in all aspects of life: Smriti Irani at UN

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani while speaking at the UN’s meeting on 25th anniversary of the 4th World Conference on Women said, "In India, we recognize the centrality of gender equality and women's empowerment in all aspects of our developmental agenda."
 
 
She added, "India today is attaching the highest priority to ensuring gender parity in all spheres of life and elimination of all forms of gender-based discrimination."
 
 
The Union Minister credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the country’s focus on the inclusive growth as well as deep reforms that would bring about transformational changes.
 
 
Speaking about the reservation for women in India, she remarked that more than 1.3 million women are elected as representatives in leadership positions through it.
