The Cabinet of Nagaland wrote a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs(GOI) seeking the opinion of the Ministry on State Governor R N Ravi's directive for giving security to some of the extremist leaders that are engaged in Naga Peace Talk with Government of India, The Hindu reported.

On October this year, Ravi instructed the Director General of Police(Nagaland) to ensure the security of the Leaders of Naga National Political Groups(NNPGs) working Committee and the leaders of the extremist group residing outside the designated camps.

The Government of India has been exclusively engaged with the Th. Muivah led NSCN-IM since the last over 23 years and holding talks with Government of India. However, the final peace accord could not be reached, as the NSCN(IM) is not ready to withdraw separate status from India.
