After remaining largely closed due to the emergence of COVID-19, the schools in Meghalaya will reopen now from January 11.
Classes from 9-12 will fully reopen in both rural and urban areas of Meghalaya. However, in urban and semi-urban areas of Shillong, Tura, Jorabat, the schools will reopen partly.
Those students who are studying in class 6-8, the schools will completely reopen in rural areas. Also for class 1-5, schools will partially open in rural areas but in urban areas, it will remain closed.
The schools will reopen after taking due consent from parents and administrative officials and in case of emergence of COVID cases, the school authorities are authorized to close the schools accordingly.
The final examination is scheduled to take place from 11 March to 20 March and the break will start from March 21-31.
The new session for 2021-22 will commence from April 1.
