After 10 Months, Manipur’s All Women Market Reopens

One of the Asia’s largest All Women run Market Nupi Keithels of Imphal, Manipur has reopened today which was closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.


The Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh has formally announced the iconic women run market to reopen on Monday.

The Nupi Keithel is consisted of three market buildings which were ordered to be closed as a measure to control the outspread of the pandemic.


The CM Singh also has confirmed that the women vendors would be exempted from paying the licence vendor fee this year.


Around 3500 licence holding women run the entire market and each vendor pays a monthly fee of Rs 90.


The women vendors expressed immense gratitude to the state for considering their state in the business in the pandemic hit condition. They are overwhelmed by the news of reopening the market.
