Today, in response to the memorandum submitted by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan teachers of Meghalaya on 9th of February to the Meghalaya Education Minister Lakmen Rymbui demanding the hike in salaries, the Meghalaya government has said that ‘it is not in a state’ to increase the salaries of the SSA teachers of a state

The SSA teachers requested the government to come up with a decision on or before February 18.


The Minister on behalf of the Meghalaya government has declared that the State was facing financial crisis post pandemic and also urged the centre to release the state share from Central taxes allowing the government to cope up with the current financial crisis in Meghalaya.
