The Gauhati High Court today, on April 7 dismissed the bail plea of former APSC chairman Rakesh Pal in the case of cash for job scam in APSC exam.
While rejecting the bail plea of Rakesh Pal, Justice Rumi Kumari Phukan stated that there are some degree of evidence available against Rakesh Pal and so the bail at this point of case can't be given to Rakesh pal.
In 2016, Rakesh Paul, the former chairman of APSC was arrested from Dibrugarh on the allegations of providing jobs by accepting cash as bribe. He is also accused of doing irregularities in Agriculture department.
Property of worth one crore had already been seized by the enforcement department under stringent provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
