Majuli Bridge work to start from Nov, CM asks police to file criminal case

Today, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the construction of the bridge connecting Jorhat to Majuli will begin from November this year. Speaking to media persons in Jorhat, Sarma said that work on the proposed bridge is ongoing and Government allowed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction contract, and the contractors have already submitted the design of the bridge to the Government of India. Otherhand Assam government has ordered the police to file a criminal case in connection with the boat capsize in the Brahmaputra in Jorhat district. Initially, 12 passengers were admitted to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital. Currently, there are eight people who are undergoing treatment.
