Again, External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar viral for his bold statements against China .“.. We are very clear on one thing, we won’t allow any unilateral changes to the LAC. People in the country trust our PM, he will never compromise on it,” External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said at the first edition of the CNN-News18 Town Hall. Upon being asked why the 15 rounds of talks with China have not borne results, the external affairs minister said that while the answer would depend on what one means by ‘expected results’ but he disagrees that they have not been fruitful.

Mr. Jaishankar had also asserted that the development of India-China ties has to be based on mutual respect, mutual sensitivity and mutuality of interests. He added the state of the border will be reflected on the state of the Sino-India relationship. The remarks came amid a standoff between India and China that began in early May of 2020. As a result of military talks, the two sides completed the disengagement process last year on the north and south banks of the Pangong lake and in the Gogra area.
